These instructions are already subsumed in the overall Creating Item Bank Tests tutorial. However, because this new function is so critical to many districts, we have created this stand-alone document as well.
It is important to note that these instructions are specific to ExamView items. If you do not have ExamView please refer to our Creating Item Bank Tests - Overall Help Doc
If the publisher item bank did come aligned to standards (newer adoptions), you can search for items by Standard and/or Chapter:
- Create the test “from item bank” as you normally would. The following instructions pick up at the “Add Test Items” screen.
- Select the specific publisher from the Item Bank dropdown.
- Select the Standard Set, Content Area, and Item Level (should be defaulted from test definitions). You can search for items by using the Standard dropdown and/or
- Click Advanced Options which will expand the section. Click the Search Item Tags field and select the specific Chapter, Unit, or Lesson you want to search
- Finally, click on this button:
If the publisher item bank did not come aligned to standards (older adoptions), you can only search for items by Chapter:
- Create the test “from item bank” as you normally would. The following instructions pick up at the “Add Test Items” screen.
- Select specific publishers from Item Bank dropdown.
- Change the Standard Set dropdown to No Standard Addressed, then change the Item Level dropdown to No Standard Addressed as well.
- Click Advanced Options which will expand the section.
- From the Search Item Tags field, select the specific Chapter, Unit, or Lesson you want to search.
- Finally, click on this button:
