EADMS can import district-adopted publisher item banks into their EADMS system, adding to the
existing item banks for specific content areas, if the district has them in ExamView format. Sometimes a
publisher will include the ExamView CDs with curriculum materials...sometimes districts need to ask
their respective publisher rep specifically for them. Some publishers use ExamView...some don’t.
The cost to import ExamView item banks is $500/CD. This is a one-time cost.
Below are the steps to import ExamView item banks:
1) Item Banks must meet the following criteria for EADMS to import them:
CC ELA & Math only - We do not import old, non-CC ELA or Math CDs.
Standard Alignment - Most new CC ELA & Math CDs include CC alignment per item. Older
Science and Social Science CDs do not come with standard alignment. Understand, these can still
be imported but can only be searched by Chapter, not by Standards, and tests created from
these items cannot be analyzed by Standard in reports.
Original Only – We cannot import customized ExamView content. We only import the
original/master files off the CDs. This isn’t an issue if you send us the original CDs, only if you
chose to upload the .BNK files.
2) If the district’s Item Banks meet the above criteria, the district contacts their Implementation
Manager or Support for a quote and publisher verification form. The district should then approve these
docs by signing and returning via email or fax.
3) After quote has been approved, EADMS will ask the district to send ExamView banks by either of the
two following methods:
a) Preferred method – District uploads to their EADMS FTP folder the .BNK files that are usually
found in the Bank’s folder under ExamView folder on the C: drive after installing each CD.
Usually there is a folder for each installed CD/bank. After uploading, the district emails
support@eadms.com and CC’s their Implementation Manager.
OR
b) District securely packages and mails the ExamView CDs to:
EADMS Support
25014 Las Brisas Road #D
Murrieta, CA 92562
(Please include return name and address to mail them back when done)
4) After receiving the banks, EADMS will notify the district and begin to analyze them. EADMS will
contact the district with an ETA and if any questions arise. Note: after analyzing, if for any reason EADMS
is not able to import some/all of them, EADMS will notify the district and revise quote accordingly.
5) Once import is complete, EADMS will notify the district with the new item bank names users can now
access when creating tests.
