AERIES API
Aeries to EADMS
Users with class rosters (classroom teachers)
o Automatically updated via API (Aeries sends info to EADMS).
o Connection between Aeries and EADMS is updated if the Aeries username exists in EADMS, even though the EADMS User ID is missing in Aeries.
o Staff name changes are not auto updated in EADMS.
o Teacher accounts in EADMS follow their students automatically. EADMS requests missing Teacher accounts from AERIES. These are teacher accounts that do not have an EADMS User ID in Aeries. If there are bad IDs in the table (like 0 or negative values), they will not come back as “missing” and thus will not be updated automatically.
Users without class rosters (admin, TOSAs, literacy specialists, counselors)
o Not auto updated.
o Either Mass Update (via user file sent by district) or Manually add/update via User Account Utility.
Updating Accounts Manually or Creating New Accounts in EADMS
o EADMS admin can manually update Aeries username in EADMS (to sync accounts). Go to User Account Utility > click Username > update Aeries information. Clicking Save re-syncs accounts.
Clicking “Save” forces an update within Aeries even if there is already an EADMS User ID in the field... so if there is a 0 or bad value in Aeries for some reason, this will fix those issues.
o Or, if an account does not exist, you can Create a New Account and add in the
Aeries info to sync up.
EADMS to Aeries
Users with class rosters (classroom teachers)
o Automatically updated via API (EADMS passes EADMS ID back to Aeries).
Users without class rosters (admins, TOSAs, literacy specialists, counselors)
o Not auto updated.
Also
o Must keep API Security settings enabled for EADMS (including “update”
column).
o Must ensure Permissions to access EADMS are enabled.
AERIES NON-API
Aeries to EADMS
Teachers and Admins
o Not auto-updated.
o Must either mass update (via user file sent by district periodically) or by
Manually adding/updating users in EADMS User Account Utility.
EADMS to Aeries
Teachers and Admins:
o Not auto-updated.
o Must either mass update (via user file as requested of EADMS) or by Manually
updating EID in Aeries Staff table
Also
o Must keep API Security settings enabled for EADMS
o Must ensure Permissions to access EADMS are enabled
AERIES API IS CONFIGURED, BUT ENROLLMENT IS NOT PULLED VIA API
SSO and Push to Gradebook can work in this case
The updating of user accounts manually by clicking “Save” works too, as described in the third
bullet of page 1 above.
