“Cutpoints” are the minimum and maximum scores students can earn on a test that ultimately
define their performance level (Standard Exceeded, Met, etc.). Users can create cutpoints
themselves each time the build a test via the Manage Tests screen. System Admin-level users
can use the Test Cutpoint Manager to add cutpoints to an assessment after it has been created
or imported.
Navigate to Utilities >Managers > Test Cutpoint Manager
Use the filters and/or the search field to find the test for which you would like to add cutpoints. Then click Select next to it.
First, select the Score Type (%, Raw Score, or Level). You can add or delete levels. You can also label them anything you want. Change the color if needed, as well as the values students must receive to earn
each respective level. Click the button under Benchmark indicating the lowest level a student can earn to be considered proficient.
You can optionally add cutpoints to the associated strands by clicking the Show Strands button. When satisfied with everything, click Save.
