Welcome to the 11th in our series of 12 tutorials on creating and managing items in the Local Item Editor. In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a “Table Matching” Item in IO Assessment.
Let’s get started!

Choose Table Matching from the list of Item Types and complete the Item Information and Item Standards (see Test Item Creation Part 1 - Navigating the Item Editor).
Click in the Stem / Prompt section and start typing, use the toolbar to add styling, images, tables, equations, etc . . .
Insert your cursor in the Stem / Prompt area where you want your table to appear. Click “Matching Table” and choose the number of columns and rows for your table.
Distractors
Distractors for this item type default to A, B, C, D . . . and cannot be changed. You will need to select at least one correct answer, just click to toggle on and off
Selecting “Enable Checkbox Clicks” allows you to select the correct answers directly in the table. NOTE: If you need to make a correction to the table you will need to uncheck this box. Answer choices are automatically generated as you fill in the table.
Scoring Instructions
Selecting more than 1 correct answer allows you to customize the Scoring Instructions.
The “Scoring Instructions” default point value is dependant on the number of correct answers you have selected.
After customizing the “Scoring Instructions” click “OK” to apply.
Rationales
Rationales are optional. Click in each box to enter your rationales.

Click the “Preview” icon to view, resize, and rotate the tool (resize and rotate only apply to the ruler and protractor)
